According to media reports, on January 16, 2020, the third intermediate people's Court of Beijing held a public hearing in accordance with the law to hear the case of the defendant sun Wenbin's intentional killing. Sun Wenbin was dissatisfied with Dr. Yang Wen's treatment of his mother, and was dissatisfied with the intentional murders. He cut Dr. Yang Wen's neck and died in the emergency room with a knife. The court sentenced the defendant sun Wenbin to death for intentional homicide, depriving him of political rights for life.
According to the court hearing, on December 4, 2019, sun Wenbin and his relatives sent his mother, sun Weishi, to the civil aviation general hospital for treatment. Because sun Wenbin was dissatisfied with Yang Wen's treatment of his mother, he held a grudge and intended to retaliate. At about 6:00 on December 24, sun Wenbin repeatedly cut and stabbed Yang Wen, the doctor on duty, in the emergency room with a sharp knife prepared in advance, which resulted in Yang Wen's death. After sun Wenbin committed the crime, he went to the police and was arrested by the public security organ.
The court held that sun Wenbin, the defendant, intentionally and illegally deprived other people's lives, and his act has constituted the crime of intentional homicide, which is extremely serious and should be punished according to law. After sun Wenbin committed the crime, he called the police and was able to truthfully state his crime, which should be recognized as surrender according to law. In view of the extremely bad nature of sun Wenbin's crime, especially cruel means of killing, especially serious circumstances and consequences, and great social harm, although there is a plot of surrender, it is not enough to punish him lightly. The court shall make the above first instance judgment in court according to law.
In the trial, the court gave full evidence and cross examination to the criminal facts charged by the public prosecution, listened to the opinions of both sides, and the defendant sun Wenbin pleaded guilty in court.
