(1884-1918) his ancestral home is Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, and his mother is Japanese. Therefore, he is a mixed race and illegitimate son. He was discriminated against from childhood and was taken back to his hometown of Zhongshan. Later, he went to Japan to study and earn a living in Shanghai and Suzhou. He was cut off as a monk because of his cold reception. He wandered around and sold literature for a living. He also planned to assassinate the leader of the royalists. He also participated in the anti Qing literary group "Nanshe" and had a good relationship with Liu Yazi. He is versatile, can write novels, can read Japanese, Sanskrit, English and French, has translated the selected poems of Byron, is good at painting, is good at poetry, even Liu Yazi.

Because of his ill fated life and unstable life, his diet is also irregular. He likes to eat whatever he wants, especially sweets. This may have something to do with the love of sugar when I was born in Japan. According to Mr. Zheng Yimei, a late Shanghai writer, he often drinks tea in a Cantonese tea house called Tongfang in chessboard street, Shanghai. There are also Cantonese cakes and imported candies. There is a kind of foreign sugar called "molden", which is packed in a flat glass bottle. Su Manshu heard that this sugar is a favorite of Camellia girls. He always adores Camellia girls and loves it very much. He bought three or four bottles of it and took them back. He called himself "sugar monk" (he was a monk, so he had the name of "monk" - the author). Once for eating sugar, but penniless, thanks to him to think out, actually sold a gold tooth in the mouth for sugar to eat. He usually has a lot of sugar in his mouth, especially when he is writing, so as to help his literary thinking. At most, you can eat three bottles of molden sugar in one day. According to the records, he had just arrived in Shanghai and ate the candy at the market price of 100 yuan at that time.

Dates are sweets, and he likes them, too. Some people asked him to draw, several times hit the wall, later heard that he liked to eat dates, he bought a big bag to send, and really got a landscape painting of his. He also talked about eating scriptures in his communication with friends: "I heard that Sujun can make dates, and I really want to appeal to people's appetite?" Suzhou's crisp sugar is very famous. There are varieties of roses, soybeans and sesame seeds, etc. he can eat more than ten packages at a time, which is unbelievable. It's no wonder that Bao Tianxiao, a Suzhou writer who lived in Hong Kong in his later years, wrote: "pine sugar orange cake and rose, sweet and fragrant. I think it's the bitterness of the master's heart. We should get sweetness from the bitterness. " He sometimes had dreams, such as Suzhou jujube mud moon cake, Jinhua ham, New Year cake, Babao rice and rotten eggs.

He was born and ate the same thing. He often ate three dumplings and several bowls of abalone noodles at once. Sometimes I also eat raw abalone and mix it with sugar and vinegar. It's said that the taste is not bad. Such a way of eating, eating bad is inevitable. He was bedridden for days without regret. He once wrote to Shao Zhichong: "one goes to Yuanshun to eat three dishes of ginger fried chicken, one bowl of shrimp noodles, five apples, tomorrow's stomach cavity will not let out any fate ears!" this is called "love to eat is not fatal".

During his time in Japan, he often searched for the ice shop in Jiaoyuan after compiling books. For ice. His friend Liu Yazi once wrote down this saying: "Su Xuanying (Su Manshu's original name) is weak and sick, but overeating. Taste in Japan, drink five or six Jin of ice a day Tomorrow, drink again as before. " Therefore, he often has diarrhea, which is related to excessive ice drinking.

In the spring of 1918, Su Manshu finally died of gastroenteropathy caused by eating without control in Shanghai Baolong hospital. It's a pity that such a versatile poet has such a short life. It is said that during his stay in hospital, doctors strictly controlled his diet, forbidding smoking (he could smoke 20 or 30 cigars a day), sugar and milk cocoa. After a few days, he couldn't bear it. He finally escaped from the hospital and went to the street to eat Babao rice, rice cakes, chestnuts and ice cream. As a result, his gastrointestinal disease was aggravated. After his death, he found a lot of candy paper under his bed and beside his pillow.

Zola, the great French writer, also enjoyed eating and drinking after he became famous. For a long time, his paunchy weight increased to 100 kg and his abdominal circumference reached 114 cm due to his simple living and writing. The increasing fat made his nervous system disordered and he had difficulty breathing; sometimes he lay on the paper and didn't even listen to his pen. Later, fearing that he would "explode", he insisted on walking and cycling, and controlled his diet. After a year's efforts, he was able to control his weight at about 95 kg. This is a kind of admirable perseverance, knowing that "wrong" must be changed, making him come back from the edge of death. If Su Manshu had such determination, there would not be such a sad ending!

There was Su Manshu's "big belly" in history. He was a bachelor in. In recent years, the TV drama "tietoothed copper teeth Ji Xiaolan" made this senior official of Qing Dynasty famous. During his demotion to Xinjiang, he wrote the well-known notes of Yuewei thatched cottage. This life is humorous and quick in thinking. He is a "meat king" - he only eats meat, not vegetables and rice. He can eat two or three catties of beef at a meal, and only serve tea. During the dinner, I saw that he chewed on his own, and paid little attention to others.

One day, he was chatting with his friends. The servant brought in a few Jin of ham. He ate it while talking, and it didn't take long for him to finish. His stomach is too heavy. Fortunately, in his later years, he firmly believed in the maxim of Sun Simiao, a medical expert of Tang Dynasty, that "those who don't know the right food are not enough to survive." he usually pays attention to nutrition and hygiene when eating, and selects materials and matches reasonably, so that he can live to the age of 83.

There is a set of diet health experience, also said: "has been hungry side food, not full first stop.". This is the same meaning as Beijing calligrapher Gong's "cook ten thousand dishes, and eat when you are hungry". No matter how good the food is, if you are full, you can't tell what it is. Therefore, it is a wise choice to let your stomach have room. Otherwise, as soon as excess calories and obesity appear, high blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, cerebral arteriosclerosis and coronary heart disease will follow, which will accelerate the aging of the immune system, and bring disaster to life.
